Swallowing:

Eating and drinking play a vital role in our quality of life. Cynthia is certified in the use of Ampcare’s Effective Swallow Protocol® and VitalStim®; both are neuromuscular electrical stimulation treatments used to strengthen swallowing skills and are electrical stimulation products with FDA approval for use on the front of the neck. Cynthia is also certified in the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP), a systematic exercise-based approach to dysphagia therapy in adults. Additionally, Cynthia holds a certification in Myofascial Release / Manual Therapy techniques for the neck, voice and swallowing disorders.

Depending on the particular swallowing difficulties, your treatment may include strengthening exercises, training in the use of safe swallowing strategies, and diet modification as needed. Working together we can improve your swallowing skills and enhance your quality of life.
